1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms

These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your relationship with Sundari Integral Yoga© School (“Sundari”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), including but not limited to:

  • Use of the Sundari website (sundari-center.com, the “Website”)
  • Registration for and attendance at classes, workshops, retreats, and Yoga Teacher Training programs
  • Bookings, payments, and communications with Sundari
  • Use of our facilities and services

By accessing the Website, booking classes, purchasing programs, or attending any Sundari activities, you signify your acceptance of these Terms.

Sundari reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. We encourage you to check this document periodically to stay informed of current guidelines.

2. Services Offered

Sundari Integral Yoga© School offers the following services:

  • Regular yoga and meditation classes and specialized yoga practices
  • Meditation and breathwork sessions
  • Daoist Arts including Meditation, Qigong, and Tai Chi
  • Integrative Therapies and wellness consultations
  • Yoga Teacher Training programs (200-hour, 300-hour, and Children Yoga Teacher certifications)
  • Workshops and specialized programs
  • Retreats at our boutique location in Lagoa de Albufeira, Portugal

All services are subject to availability and may be modified or cancelled at Sundari’s discretion with appropriate notice to participants.

3. Bookings and Registration

3.1 How to Book

Bookings and registrations can be made through:

  • The Sundari website (www.sundari-center.com)
  • Email communication with our team
  • WhatsApp messaging
  • Direct contact at our facility

3.2 Registration Requirements

To register for any Sundari program or service, you must:

  • Provide accurate and complete personal information
  • Be at least 16 years of age – minors aged 16-18 require parental consent
  • Complete any required health questionnaires or waivers
  • Make payment according to the payment terms specified for your chosen program

3.3 Confirmation

Your booking is confirmed only upon receipt of full payment or the required deposit for Teacher Training programs. You will receive a confirmation email within 48 hours of successful registration. If you do not receive confirmation, please contact us immediately.

4. Payment Terms

4.1 Accepted Payment Methods

Sundari accepts the following payment methods:

  • Bank transfer (IBAN provided upon registration)
  • Card via Stripe
  • Cash (for in-person transactions only)

4.2 Payment Schedules

Regular Classes and Workshops: Full payment is required at the time of booking.

Retreats: A deposit of 30% is required to secure your place, with the balance due 7 days before the retreat start date.

Yoga Teacher Training Programs: A deposit of 30% is required upon registration, with flexible payment plans available for the remaining balance. Full payment must be completed before the program start date.

4.3 Currency

All prices are listed in EUR (Euros). Payments made in other currencies will be converted at the current exchange rate at the time of transaction.

4.4 Price Changes

Sundari reserves the right to modify prices at any time. Once you have made a booking and payment, the agreed price will be honoured for that specific booking.

5. Cancellation and Refund Policy

5.1 Regular Classes and Workshops

  • Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled class: Full credit towards future classes
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the class: No refund or credit
  • No-shows: No refund or credit

5.2 Retreats

  • Cancellations made more than 60 days before retreat start: Full refund minus 100 EUR administrative fee
  • Cancellations made 30-60 days before retreat start: 50% refund
  • Cancellations made less than 30 days before retreat start: No refund of the deposit
  • Substitution: You may transfer your booking for another Sundari program upon agreement with the Sundari Team or to another person for the same program up to 7 days before the retreat start date

5.3 Yoga Teacher Training Programs

  • Cancellations made more than 90 days before program start: Full refund minus 200 EUR administrative fee
  • Cancellations made 60-90 days before program start: 50% refund
  • Cancellations made 30-60 days before program start: 25% refund
  • Cancellations made less than 30 days before program start: No refund of the deposit
  • Withdrawal after program commencement: No refund for any remaining sessions

5.4 Sundari-Initiated Cancellations

In the event that Sundari must cancel a class, workshop, retreat, or program due to insufficient enrolment, instructor unavailability, or unforeseen circumstances, participants will receive:

  • A full refund of all payments made, OR
  • A credit for the full amount to be used toward any future Sundari program at their choice and according to existing availability

Sundari is not responsible for any additional costs incurred by participants, including but not limited to travel expenses, accommodation bookings, or time off work.

5.5 Special Circumstances

In cases of serious illness, injury, or family emergencies, Sundari may, at its sole discretion, offer a partial refund or credit. Documentation (such as a medical certificate) may be required. Please contact us as soon as possible if such circumstances arise.

6. Class Attendance and Conduct

6.1 Arrival Time

We strongly recommend arriving at least 10-15 minutes before class start time. Late arrivals should exercise an outmost care to maintain the integrity of the practice and respect for the other participants or, in case of improper conduct, may be denied entry

6.2 Required Items

Participants should bring their own sportswear, water bottle, and any personal props they prefer. Usual equipment such as yoga mats and meditation blocks are made available at the facility.

6.3 Dress Code

Please wear comfortable sportswear suitable for movement. We request that participants respect the sacred nature of our space by dressing appropriately.

6.4 Respectful Conduct

Sundari maintains a peaceful, respectful environment. We ask that all participants:

  • Maintain silence in practice spaces
  • Turn off mobile phones and electronic devices
  • Refrain from wearing strong perfumes or scents
  • Respect the teacher’s instructions and guidance
  • Treat all participants and staff with kindness and respect
  • Our facility is a substance-free environment so, please, carefully observe it

Sundari reserves the right to ask any participant whose behaviour is disruptive or disrespectful to leave the premises, without refund.

7. Health and Safety

7.1 Medical Conditions

Participants must disclose any medical conditions, injuries, or physical limitations that may affect their ability to practice safely. This information will be kept confidential and used only to ensure your safety and wellbeing.

7.2 Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or suspect you might be, please inform your instructor before class. Certain poses and practices may need to be modified or avoided.

7.3 Assumption of Risk

By participating in Sundari programs, you acknowledge that yoga, meditation, Qigong, Tai Chi, and related practices involve physical activity and may carry moderate yet inherent risks. You assume full responsibility for any injuries or health issues that may arise during or after participation.

You agree to:

  • Practice within your own limits and capabilities
  • Inform the instructor immediately if you experience pain or discomfort
  • Follow the instructor’s guidance regarding modifications and contraindications

7.4 Physical Adjustments

Our experienced teachers may offer hands-on adjustments during classes to help deepen practice, improve alignment, and prevent injury. These adjustments are always optional and performed with care and respect for individual boundaries.

If you prefer not to receive hands-on adjustments, please inform your instructor before class begins. Alternative verbal guidance will be provided.

7.5 Medical Disclaimer

The practices taught at Sundari are not substitutes for medical treatment. If you have any health concerns, please consult with your healthcare provider before participating in our programs. Sundari teachers are not medical professionals and do not provide medical advice.

8. Limitation of Liability and Waiver

By registering for and/or attending classes, workshops, retreats, teacher training programs, and other activities at Sundari Integral Yoga© School, you hereby acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are voluntarily participating in activities that involve physical movement and effort
  • You understand there are inherent risks associated with yoga and related practices
  • You assume all risks related to your participation

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless Sundari Integral Yoga© School, its founders Carmen Prema and Eugen Mario, all instructors, staff members, and affiliated entities from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury (including death) that may be sustained by you while participating in activities or using facilities at Sundari, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

This waiver extends to all claims of every kind or nature whatsoever, known or unknown, arising out of or in connection with your participation in Sundari programs and use of facilities.

9. Photography and Image Rights

From time to time, Sundari may take photographs or videos during classes, workshops, retreats, and teacher training programs for promotional purposes, including but not limited to use on our website, social media, printed materials, and advertising.

By participating in Sundari programs, you consent to being photographed or filmed and grant Sundari the right to use your image and likeness in marketing and promotional materials without compensation.

If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please inform us in writing at the time of registration. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request, though we cannot guarantee that you will not appear incidentally in group photos or videos.

10. Personal Property

Sundari provides storage areas for personal belongings during classes and programs. However, we are not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to personal property left on the premises.

Items left behind will be kept for a maximum of 14 days. After this period, unclaimed items may be donated or disposed of. Personal hygiene items (towels, clothing) will be discarded immediately for sanitation reasons.

We recommend that you do not bring valuable items to the facility and that you keep personal belongings with you or secured at all times.

11. Intellectual Property Rights

All content on the Sundari website and in our programs, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, videos, audio recordings, course materials, and teaching sequences, is the exclusive property of Sundari Integral Yoga© School and is protected by Portuguese and international copyright laws.

 

Participants in Teacher Training programs may use learned techniques in their own teaching practice. However:

  • You may not reproduce, copy, redistribute course materials or teacher training manuals without written permission
  • You may not record audio or video of classes or training sessions without explicit written consent
  • You may not use the Sundari name or logo without written authorization
  • You may not claim certification from Sundari if you have not successfully completed the full program

Unauthorized use or reproduction of Sundari intellectual property may result in legal action.

12. Teacher Training Specific Terms

12.1 Attendance Requirements

To receive certification from a Sundari Yoga Teacher Training program, you must:

  • Attend at least 90% of all scheduled training hours
  • Complete all required assignments and assessments
  • Demonstrate competency in teaching yoga as assessed by program instructors
  • Conduct yourself professionally and ethically throughout the program

12.2 Certification

Upon successful completion of all requirements, graduates will receive:

  • A Sundari Integral Yoga© Teacher Training Certificate
  • Registration eligibility with Yoga Alliance (programs are Yoga Alliance registered)

12.3 Accommodation

Accommodation at our retreat location in Lagoa de Albufeira is included in the Teacher Training program fee, following the Gurukula tradition of living with the teacher. Accommodation is provided in twin-bed rooms with private bathrooms. Participants are expected to respect the shared living space and community guidelines.

12.4 Meals

Ovo-lacto vegetarian meals (lunch and dinner) are included in the program fee and are prepared by our local chef. Participants with special dietary requirements should notify us at the time of registration. Breakfast is self-service using the available kitchen facilities and the provided grocery products.

13. Privacy Policy and GDPR Compliance

13.1 Data Controller

Sundari Integral Yoga© School (“Sundari”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is the data controller responsible for your personal data.

13.2 What Information We Collect

We collect and process the following personal data:

Information you provide to us:

  • Name, email address, phone number, postal address
  • Date of birth and age
  • Payment and billing information
  • Health information (medical conditions, injuries, physical limitations – only as necessary for your safety)
  • Emergency contact information
  • Communications you send to us (emails, WhatsApp messages, contact form submissions)

  • Health information: Duration of your relationship with Sundari plus 1 year
  • Teacher training records: Indefinitely (for certification verification purposes)

15.1 Informal Resolution

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Portugal. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Sundari services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Portuguese courts.

16. Force Majeure

Sundari shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing obligations under these Terms due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Acts of God (natural disasters, severe weather, earthquakes, floods)
  • Pandemics, epidemics, or public health emergencies
  • War, terrorism, civil unrest, or government action
  • Labour strikes or disputes
  • Failure of utilities, internet, or communication systems
  • Instructor illness or emergency

In such circumstances, Sundari will make reasonable efforts to fulfil obligations as soon as possible and may offer alternative arrangements, rescheduling, or refunds as appropriate.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, or if modification is not possible, it shall be severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy and any program-specific terms provided at the time of registration, constitute the entire agreement between you and Sundari Integral Yoga© School regarding your use of our services and supersede all prior agreements or understandings, whether written or oral.

19. Amendments

Sundari reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will post the updated Terms on our website with a revised “Last Updated” date. Material changes will be communicated to registered users via email.

Your continued use of our services after changes to the Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you should discontinue use of our services.
